The Client
Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP is an international law firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with roots dating back to 1860. Formed through a 2011 merger, the firm has over 20 offices across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Best known for its intellectual property expertise, it also offers services in litigation, corporate law, construction, and Native American affairs, serving clients from Fortune 50 companies to startups.
The Ask
Building on the rebranding work developed by the brand team, I helped bring Kilpatrick’s forward-thinking “Connected to next” positioning to life through a redesigned website. We developed new Home and About Us pages to highlight the firm’s connection to innovation and its role in shaping the ideas of tomorrow. Global styles across the site were also refreshed to reflect the updated brand. The result is a digital presence that showcases how Kilpatrick’s sharp legal minds partner with the world’s most innovative companies.
The Role
Led the digital expression of the rebrand, translating the brand team’s strategy into a cohesive website experience. Partnered closely with the brand team to ensure the positioning and visual system were carried through consistently, and worked hand-in-hand with development to bring the designs to life. Served as the day-to-day creative voice with the client, guiding decisions and maintaining alignment throughout the process.
One of the most interesting challenges of this project was that we were only scoped to redesign the homepage and About Us page. The rest of the site had to remain structurally untouched, with adjustments limited to CSS. But with thoughtful planning, solid style foundations, and a sharp development team, we were able to build a fully integrated design system. It was all anchored in just two reference pages and extended seamlessly across the entire site.
