The Client

Blackstone is one of the world’s largest investment firms, specializing in private equity, real estate, credit, and alternative asset management. The firm manages billions in assets globally and works with institutional and individual investors to deliver long-term value.

The Ask

Blackstone needed design support for their 2025 CIO Symposium, an annual global event where leadership presents insights on AI, alternatives, and capital deployment. The main deliverable was a 130+ page deck for projection on a 30-foot ultrawide screen, translating complex financial data into a clear, visually engaging presentation.

The Role

I joined the project to reinforce a design team already working within an established visual direction. With a tight deadline, I translated complex content into clear, consistent slides and contributed to flow, templating, systemization, motion, and overall process, ensuring the deck was cohesive and visually engaging.

With a screen of this size and extreme 32:7 aspect ratio, a new set of design challenges emerged that typical presentations rarely encounter. Key considerations included readability from wide viewing angles, speaker height whether seated or standing, and careful control of white levels to avoid overwhelming the audience, while also accounting for how pure blacks behaved on a glossy LED surface.

The result was a striking minimalist presentation built on a highly gridded layout system. A bold use of orange was employed with precision to anchor each slide’s primary message, supported by a distinctive graphic language for charts and graphs. Scale became a key device, reinforcing the magnitude and impact of the ideas being presented.
